Obedience Classes are offered during four sessions each year. Our experienced instructors team teach, using a positive reinforcement method of dog training. Classes are open to any dog who is at least 12 weeks of age. Dogs and owners of all ages can benefit from the techniques used. Children must always be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Basic Dog Obedience Training & S.T.A.R. Puppy Classes
Basic and S.T.A.R. Puppy class sessions are seven weeks long and offered on Tuesday nights. Class size is limited and spaces are reserved on a first come, first served basis determined by receipt of the Registration form and payment (cash or check made payable to "Clever Canines").
The first night of our Basic and S.T.A.R. Puppy Classes is our orientation class, so participants come without their dogs. During subsequent classes with the dogs, participants will need a flat buckle collar or equivalent (no metal or correction collars) and a four to six foot leash made of leather, nylon or equivalent (no chain leashes or flexi-leads).
CGC Preparation Classes
The CGC Prep classes are 6 weeks long with a one-hour class taught on Tuesdays. Participants in this class will bring their dogs the very first night of class. In order to participate in the CGC Prep class, you and your dog must have attended and completed one basic class. Please bring your certificate of completion for the basic class you attended.
What to do next
If interested, simply follow the instructions on our Information Letter for the class you are interested in, fill out the Registration Form and have your veterinarian fill out and sign our Certificate of Vaccination. No dog will be allowed to attend class until the Certificate of Vaccination has been completed and signed by your veterinarian. We want to take every precaution to insure our class setting is healthy for all who attend.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak classes have been cancelled for now. Please check back on our website in the fall for our next class. We hope to start offering them October 2021!
